They are "cousins" because these girls were inspired in part by the old favorite Sunbonnet Sue. Though shown as redwork done on the sewing machine, these could just as easily be done in crayonwork (I did a little on mine in the shading and details like ribbons and flowers) or as applique. Alternative designs for the corners are also included.
